This post is LONG overdue. In March, the girls and I threw two very special ladies a "Sip and See" to honor the births of their second children. In case you aren't from the South, a "sip and see" is a small, lower-key baby shower given after the baby is born. Usually, you "sip" on tea, coffee, and some bubbly and "see" the precious baby. We hosted a fun all-girls and babies brunch our my friend Megan's gorgeous new home. We had lots of pretty flowers, yummy brunch . . .

You are likely here visiting Fig + Cotton to check out a recipe you found on foodgawker or Pinterest...or maybe you are looking for some entertaining essentials. Today's post is a bit different, but I hope you will stick around. Since this blog's inception, I have not used it as a personal journal. I love to cook and entertain in my home, and Fig + Cotton gave me an outlet to share what I love with you. However, I feel like the content is, at times, a little impersonal and . . .

Spicy Creamy Tomato Sauce
To be honest, we don't eat a ton of pasta in our house. Okay, well, I don't eat a ton of pasta in our house. Mat, however, would eat pasta with just butter, salt, and grated parmesan cheese almost every night of the week. Truth be told, I don't love red sauce. I do enjoy lasagna and dishes like baked ziti, but when it come to just red sauce -- even a good, meaty bolognese -- over noodles, it just doesn't excite me very much. However, a cream sauce over pasta...sign me . . .

The French 75 Cocktail
Today, I am over at La Dolce Vita today talking about how to throw a cocktail party in a pinch. Come see! The cocktail featured is one of my all-time favorites. It is sweet, sour, and a bit bubbly: the French 75. Now, I like to add in St. Germaine liquor, and some mixologists will say this is not a French 75, but possibly a French 77. Regardless, it is delicious. When my husband I were in New Orleans recently, I must have ordered 20 of these. At every . . .
Free Printable: Popsicle Iron-on
One of my close friends threw her gorgeous daughter her first birthday party a few weekends ago. She chose a popsicle theme, and it was a precious, low-key gathering at our country club pool. I decided to get a bit creative with her gift, and I decided to add a sweet popsicle iron-on to her gift bag. It turned out pretty cute!! And, now you, Fig + Cotton reader can recreate it! Warm Corn Salad
This salad is a crowd pleaser. It is so simple, but every time I make it, someone requests the recipe. It is sweet, savory, and spicy...all at once. With corn in its peak season, this dish is a no brainer during the summer. The sweet sauteed corn perfectly compliments the mild heat of the jalapeno, and makes everyone come back for seconds. And, you know what is even better? This takes maybe 30 minutes from start to finish. Yep. Make it this . . .
