Over the weekend, Mat and I — along with 5 ridiculously fun couples — hosted our first party in our new/old house. We were celebrating the pending nuptials of some dear friends that are getting married in September. I truly love celebrating the milestones of my friends and family. There is something about it that makes me feel even closer to our “tribe.”

Even though it is still super hot here in Texas, we had lots of laughs, fun drinks, and delicious food to keep us happy. We threw the couple a “stock the bar” party where guests brought them all types of bar items including wine, spirits, and barware.

For the food, we went with a slider bar. Guests could chose smoked brisket (which was, by far, one of the best briskets I have ever eaten), grilled chicken, and pulled pork sliders. We had tons of bacon, pickles, jalapenos, cheese, and BBQ sauce so everyone could pick and choose what they liked best.
We also had an array of salads that could be served at room temperature, so there was no stress involved!

For the bar, we went with some Russian River Valley Chardonnay (the bride’s fav), lots of Spanish cava, assorted beers…and a gin and tonic bar. It was amazing.
The gin and tonic bar was stocked with everything you could ever need to craft the perfect G&T!
I wish I had done a better job of taking more pictures. I was just having too much fun!
Have a great week!
