Fourth of July Desserts

Berry Slab Pie
Berry Slab Pie  —  find recipe here

The Fourth of July is tomorrow, and I have rounded up some beautiful desserts — some simple and some more elaborate — for you.

Last Sunday, we hosted our monthly supper club (6 couples and 5 — soon to be 6! — kids).  The plan is always to do something simple for dinner since the entire purpose of the supper club is to see everyone at least once a month.  Our family really looks forward to it, and we love when it is our month to host.  Mat and I did quick burgers, sweet potato fries, corn and grilled zucchini salad…and red velvet cake.

Everything was wonderful, but I wasn’t in love with my red velvet cake.  It was good, but just not great.  Not blog-worthy, in my opinion.  ðŸ™‚  So, I have compiled a list of for you to try instead.  I love using red and blue berries for any patriotic holiday; I think the berries add a bit of sophistication as opposed to blue and red food coloring.  Please comment and let me know if any of these worked for you!

Easy Red Velvet Brownies that start from a cake mix. Star shaped cookie cutters help make a cute patriotic dessert.

And don’t forget the Fourth of July Printables posted last week!  Make it super simple:  pick up pretty cupcakes from a bakery and add Fig + Cotton fun cupcake toppers!
