This is the first of another new series: Entertaining Essentials. Today, I am serving up some of my favorite pretty platters that showcase your food and add to your dinner party decor.
- Crate and Barrel has some amazing clean, white platters. I tend to use white serving dishes most of the time as I love to see the colors and textures of the dishes I have prepared. This large rectangle is a classic you definitely need in your arsenal. (many price points)
- This platter’s color palette is perfect for that summer soiree. Anthropologie also offers the matching plates; the salad plates would be a perfect accent to crisp white dinner plates. ($48)
- I adore this weathered stainless steel Michael Aram platter from Neiman Marcus. It is extremely versatile and definitely chic. ($189)
- Oh, Fiesta ware. What a classic. This stoneware comes in a rainbow of colors and multiple shapes. If you are looking to add color to your table, look no further. ($25)
- William Sonoma’s Iznik Platter is truly stunning. The “old world” style coupled with the perfect color palette is sure to be a show stopper. ($69.95)
- This particular silverplated antique patter is from 1st Dibs, but you can find these all over town in antique stores, thrift shops, your mother’s china cabinet, and even ebay. I am very lucky that I have a decent collection of silver and silverplated bowls and platters from family members and my own purchases over the years. These family heirlooms definitely don’t belong tucked away in a cabinet, and they can be used for any style dinner party. ($495)
- Pottery Barn’s Emma platters are the perfect off-white casual dinner dishes and serve ware. This is what I have at home, and they do not disappoint. ($38)
- Think outside the box. This beautiful handled cutting board is one of the most versatile serving pieces you can own. ($65)
Enjoy!
